A TV channel and media veteran in Asia for over 20 years, Gregory Ang is hooked on the fast-changing and dynamic industry’s adrenaline rush.
Ang has set up channel and business operations for companies such as ESPN, Discovery Channel and Hallmark Channel in Asia. He successfully established satellite operations in India, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Ang held key positions as Hallmark Channel Asia’s Vice President, Discovery Channel Asia’s Director for Asia Regional Advertising Sales and ESPN Asia. With his extensive experience, Ang forged partnerships with major cable operators and developed inter-media alliances.
A natural rainmaker, Greg charts new ground again with the formation of Gang TV in 2005. Gang TV is Singapore’s only company in the business of assisting entertainment companies develop, launch, market and manage channel operations throughout the Asia Pacific region.
In 2005, Ang was instrumental in initiating US HD TV content giant, Rainbow Media LLC to Asia. He is also the appointed consultant for driving Rainbow’s channel development in the Asia Pacific.
Prior to the cable TV business, Greg was General Manager and Director for Barcelona Cars andRegional PR & Advertising Manager for Volkswagen Asia Pacific. He also has wide experience in advertising, PR and the media, having worked with the American Express, Leo Burnett Advertising, Lintas and Westin Stamford.
Greg is a motoring enthusiast and an avid tennis player. A graduate of University of San Francisco, California, Greg gained his early experience in broadcasting as radio host and newscaster for the campus radio station. Greg started his broadcast career in San Francisco’s Public Broadcasting Station KQED Channel 9.
